Thanks to everyone , I'm coming along with Adobe Premiere CC slowly but surely , but there's still  another question to be answered. I've got a BPAV folder with approx: 50 clips but in my workflow I'll only need about 10 of those clips. Pardon me if I've ask this question before ,   but is there a way to copy only the 10 clips that I need instead of copying the entire BPAV folder with all 50 clips ?

Short answer, always copy the entire card.  Never delete, rename or move anything from the card.

Sony provide three programs which will do what you want - the older Content Browser, the current  Catalyst Browse, and the new version of the Media Management Utility.

They certainly work with all Sony cameras which generate BPAV folders, but I am doubtful whether they will work with any other camera's BPAV folder.

I would expect that other camera manufacturers would produce equivalent software for their cameras - Canon certainly do.

Unless you know exactly what you are doing, it is always better to use the camera's own software to upload files to your computer.  If you cannot do that, then the only safe way is to copy the entire BPAV folder, and then injest tjust the clips that you want to your NLE.
