Corrupt Source Footage Audio

Ok, this one is bizarre... I mean I'm just totally lost...

So I am editing footage from my iphone on Adobe Premiere Pro Version 24.1.0 (Build 85). I'm using the audio from that footage in the timeline as well. Everything is going totally fine and then all of a sudden I notice that audio on a certain clip now has audio from an ambience sound clip added onto it. I am using that ambiance audio in the project at the beginning of the timeline but have no clue how it got printed on the other audio clip (multiple clips actually). I checked the source video and it too has the added audio.

The strange thing is that before beginning the edit I dumped the footage onto my Macbook desktop from my iphone photos app using AirDrop. Then I put all the footage into folders on my desktop and dragged them into Premiere. The desktop was not linked to icloud at the time (and still isn't) so I have no idea how the files are identically corrupted on my phone and on my desktop.

Zero clue what is happening, any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for the message. Have you inspected the properties of these clips? Is there anything unusual about them? Were they shot in Cinematic mode? Do they have a constant frame rate or a variable frame rate? If the latter, try transcoding the clips to an editing codec using the freeware, Shutter Encoder. That can also work. Let me know any other workflow details. I hope we can help.
