Hey there! Disclaimer up-front: I'm still a new user of Adobe Premiere.
I've been using a white color matte as a background for title cards in my videos, and using a cross-dissolve from the title to my captured footage. The first three or four videos I made with this technique were fine, but I noticed today that the cross-dissolve didn't seem to be respecting the color matte, and the video cuts from white to black as it dissolves into my captured footage. Here are some gifs illustrating my point:
1. This shows how it looks when previewed in Premiere
2. This shows how it looks after its rendered
There were no changes that I'm aware of to the media files between when I first rendered the video last week, and when I rendered it again today. I'm hoping this is just a silly mistake on my part.
Please let me know if I should provide more information for assistance. Thank you in advance!
I'm still getting inconsistent results with cross-dissolve after copying files to a new sequence, but I've started using Dip to White instead and that looks/performs much better. I'll go ahead and mark this question as answered. Thank you both for your help!

If you can make a screen-grab png or jpg file of the sequence showing one of these transition spots drag/drop into your reply box, with details of which transition you're using, it would help.

Hey Neil! I hope this screenshot is helpful:

The transition is Video Transitions>Dissolve>Cross Dissolve. I did not make any changes to the effect itself, I just dragged-and-dropped it from the Effects panel to the beginning of the captured footage on my timeline.

Make new sequence and copy / paste everything over to the new sequence.
Have you tried keyframing opacity.
The final render (last link) does not look at that good either.

I copied the clips over to a new sequence and the transition appears to be working as intended, thank you! Can you go into more detail about what you mean by "The final render (last link) does not look at that good either"?
