Are you able to export a FinalCut XML that the editor is able to open and work with?

If the project is merely cuts and no special effects, this approach oughta work...

Please give us some more information on the problem/project.

For starters, why is so urgent that you roll back to CC2018? Is CC2022 unable to handle the project?

Help us help you.

I have to send a rough cut of a project to the main editor and he is using the 2018 version of  Premiere on Mac. His laptop can not afford the latest versions of the program.

I'm using Premiere Pro 2021 15.2

There is no sound or colour effects on materials.

I downgraded the project. but still the 2018 version doesn't open the project.

It just works with Premiere 2020, not with 2018

Yashar, these methods do work. But every so often, someone has trouble getting this to work.

When you open the unzipped/text file, what version number do you see? What number did you change it to? What program did you use to "gzip" it?

Do you have PR 2018 on your machine? If so, are you testing the file by opening it in PR 2018 on your machine?

If you rename the edited file, are you sure you are sending/testing the correct file?

Stan

I've tried it, and the response from the premiere is file made in older version, but then won't convert it to the current version.

this is why it doesnt work

Unfortunately, this tool can't convert 2022 to 2020 projects.
