Duplicate an Audio Track

Explorer ,
May 29, 2018 May 29, 2018

QUESTION: How can I duplicate an audio track (channel)? Not the clips, the track in the timeline with it's routing, effects, and settings.

WHY? I have a project for an existing show where the talking head needs to do a quad split and I really don't want to waste time manually adding 3 new audio tracks, adding their effects, then (because we cannot copy and paste effects settings in the audio mixer) manually setting them all.

I'm begging you, Adobe! Right-click audio track in the mixer > "Duplicate track". PLEASE!!!

Thanks,

Charlie Essers

Not sure I understand your situation with the talking heads, but as a suggestion - next time if you are using common effect across multiple audio tracks - first set up a submix track that contains the common effects and route all your talking heads tracks (and any additional tracks you add and want to have processed with the common effects) to the submix track.

Submixes are great (and I'm already using them for other things); not the answer for this one, though. Thanks for the reply!

I worried as much. Thanks for the reply, Jim. Even if we could opt+drag effects onto new tracks to copy them with their settings that would help a little!

Good news, I actually just tried shift+dragging effects from one audio track to another in the latest version of Premiere - it works!

Good evening,

since we can't have a "duplicate track"...
could we have at least a "copy attribute" (sub-mix and routing included) then ?
Thanks
