Question

Dynamic link doesn't work after update

I was working on a big project in Premiere and had multiple comps linked to after effects where I did tracking, masking and so on. After the last update, my comps in Premiere pro became unlinked and when I try to link them again, it tries to connect to Dynamic Link Server indefinitely. I can't import these comps either, the same problem occurs. This is really frustrating and it cost me two days of work already and if I can't get this to operate I will loose weeks of my time. It's really hilarious that adobe adds all these fancy features to their products, yet they can't provide basic functionality and stability, Creative Cloud subscription isn't really cheap either and anytime I update, it feels like I am walking in a mine field. Anyone encountered the same issue?

I think I found kind of a fix. I just selected my whole timeline and copied it to a new project file. I had to manually relink all AE comps again, but it worked and the comps stayed linked after that.

Have the same prob. I urgently need a solution. Can  I restart the Dynamic Link Server?

Hello everyone.

I do have the same issue.

I've seen this morning that when I have open the aftereffects file and premiere at the same time, premiere can see the files properly. But if aftereffects have been closed, or opened another file, the media is set to offline.

It would be great for a solution or just a workaround for now!

Hey again,

I just tried this workaround and works fine for me:

Installed the older version of AE 17.04 and Premier 14.0.3.

General advice dont update mids (big) project.

Go back to previous build and finish project.
