Dynamic link issue when linking clip with transform effect

I edit vertical content, im given the raw footage which is shot at 4k resolution and is shot in person vertically. The footage imports horizontally since when the footage is taken its obviously just being physically turned vertically. My workflow is change sequence settings to vertical (9:16) then add a transform layer to all clips that turn it 90 degrees. Now when I try to dynamic link one of the clips, what happens is that in after effects, the composition is vertical, but the clip imports as horizontal and cuts off, making it impossible for me to use the feature. Now when I want to use after effects I have to render the clip individually and then import it seperatley into a new project which is way more time consuming, and long term has been effecting my projects. Is there a fix to this? I can't seem to find any information? I've tried nesting the clip before linking and it still has the issue. Other things to note, im on most up to date versions, I'm normally editing in 60fps(59.94), on macbook air m2

Hi Cory,

The Transform effect does not translate well when going from Premiere Pro to After Effects. I would recommend using the Rotation setting in the Motion effect instead.

Out of curiosity: why are you  shooting & editing in 59.94 fps?

Usually you shoot something in high framerate to use it as a slow motion clip in a regular timeline of 29,97 or 23,96 (USA) or 25 fps (EU), depending on where you are in the world.

I fixed this issue a while back, Pauls answer was the solution, I had a quick transform preset saved that let me quickly rotate the vertical clips but didn't realise it was an issue until I tried to use the dynamic link into after effects.

I record mostly in 23.96 but when shooting events everything is recorded in 59.94 because anything may need to be slowed down. At the time though my timeline was 60 fps becuase I wanted that aethstetic smooth look, but ya id mostly edit in  timeline of 29 or 23
