Description of the problem:
I am experiencing multiple issues with Dynamic Link and file importing between Premiere Pro (Pr) and After Effects (Ae). Below are the detailed problems I have encountered:
Dynamic Link not fully functional: I am unable to establish a stable dynamic link between Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Unable to open Ae sequence in Pr: When I try to open an After Effects sequence in Premiere Pro, it fails to load or open properly.
System hangs during file import: When trying to import an After Effects sequence (especially one with video) into Premiere Pro, my system occasionally hangs.
Drag and drop issue: I cannot drag and drop files from Windows Explorer into the Premiere Pro project tab, which used to work normally.
Steps I have already taken to resolve the issue:
I have completely uninstalled all Adobe applications using the AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool and performed a fresh installation of Creative Cloud and both applications.
I installed the latest versions of Premiere Pro (Version 25.0.0 Build 61) and After Effects (Version 25.0.0 Build 53).
I have tried running both Premiere Pro and After Effects as Administrator, but the issues persist.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving these problems as they significantly affect my workflow. If more information or logs are needed, please let me know.
HI @Garis Lurus Std - There is an update to After Effects today or tomorrow can you update and let us know if you are still experiencing issues.
There is an import issue in the known issues, please have a look and keep us updated.
We believe we've already fixed this problem; can you successfully import the .aep into the current PPro beta build?

Dears,
Since the latest version of adobe apps 2025, I can't import any after effects projects into Premiere. It says I have to install AE 2025, although it's installed already

- I updated After Effects to the latest version (25.0.1), but the issues remain the same.
- Downgrading both After Effects and Premiere Pro to version 24.6.3 resolved all the issues.
- After updating back to the latest versions and removing the old versions, the problems came back.

Hi @Garis Lurus Std - There is a known issue in 25 with importing media, but I'm not sure if your issue matches. Can you try using 25.1 beta and see if you are still experiencing these issues?

Hi all, I updated to Premiere Pro 25.0 and After Effects 25.0.1 and now the import of aep files is not possible anymore. I can find the aep files on my HD, select one of the compositions, the File import window appears but the progress bar stays with 0 %.
I tried to open the aep file with After Effects and saved it again but with no better result.
It would be very nice still being able to work with my After Effects animations!
Thank you for any help, Frank

After further testing, I discovered that disabling certain panels in Premiere Pro resolved the import issue.
However, there is still a critical issue where my PC crashes and restarts when attempting to change the video mode in After Effects.
I have not yet tested the beta version to see if the issue persists there.

I have identified that the issue occurs when both Premiere Pro and After Effects are open at the same time. When I run them separately, the applications work.
However, when they are both open simultaneously, the following problems occur:
Direct2D Drawbot error (HRESULT:...): This error appears when I change the video mode in After Effects (e.g., from Normal to Multiply, Screen, etc.).
Direct2D Drawbot error also occurs when I try to import QuickTime video files into the After Effects timeline.
These errors and the instability go away when either Premiere Pro or After Effects is closed, but when they are both open together, the problems reappear.

Hi @Garis Lurus Std - There was an issue with a memory leak in the Direct2D drawbot in version 25. This has been resolved in version 25.1

Same issue from my side.
With the latest updates, unable to import an AE comp from "file/import" but it's ok from "File/Adobe dynamic Link/import an AE comp"

The fix for me was to open the file in After Effects and drag the composition from After Effects to Premiere Pro.
When I try to drag the file into Premiere from Windows Explorer, sometimes it hangs.
