New Here ,
Feb 23, 2022 Feb 23, 2022

Im new to premire pro and im wondering how I can insert a clip in between other clips without the program automatically deleting the one next to it. Im also wondering how to slow down a clip or make a clip longer when its in front of another clip without the clip next to it getting affected.

Check out 3 and 4-point editing in the Help files. You set say the in/out on a clip, the in on a sequence, Premiere can either overwrite the current contents or insert the new bit which moves everything past it down the line.

For the slow-motion part: right-click on the clip and choose "Speed Duration", in that dialogue box: set the desired speed and check the option: "Ripple Edit..."

To make the clip longer (without affecting speed), hover your mouse over the edge of the clip in the timeline while pressing ctrl on the keyboard, when it turns into a yellow bracket ( ] or [ ) just drag that edge.

Double click a clip in the Project panel, then click the Insert button: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/adding-clips-sequences.html.

You can also drag a clip to the timeline with the CTRL or CMD key pressed. Drop the clip between the desired clips.

Thanks,
Kevin
