Editing Question from a newbie

So I have been given a project that has already been put together, but the video clips need to be replaced.  I want to keep the actual edits and only replace the source video is this possible?  Please help.

If u want to change the entire clip on the timeline  right click on the original video file u imported in the project window and choose replace clip.

This will however mess your edit up if you have multiple cuts.

Heres another method that allows more control:

Hold Alt (windows) or Option (Mac) and then drag the clip from the source or Project panel onto the clip in the sequence. Once the clip is highlighted let go of the mouse. The clip will be brought in with all the attributes intact and fit exac

replacing source video is possible , but it may cause problems, better just drag the video you want to add on the timeline and put it on the one you want to be replaced just on the upper video track.

But I need the new video to have all the edits the other had and since I did not do it I do not really know how to accomplish it does that make sense?
