EDL custom metadata export

Is there a way to get custom metadata exported on a per clip basis as part of the EDL export process? We're trying to use Shotgrid RV's import cut tool which requires an EDL with a COMMENT meta tag below the clip name. However no meta data gets exported as part of the process right now. Is there a mapping mechanism for this or can we script our own exporter to do this by overriding the export EDL function?

Not today. We're tracking "enable Comment metadata for EDL export" as DVAPR-4231464; no work currently scheduled.
