Effects not showing until render

Hello,

So having some problems with Premiere and showing effects live in my program monitor. For example, if I add RGB curves and change the parameters nothing on my image changes until I complete a 'render in to out'. Happens with all effects I'm trying, not just RGB curves. Obviously a bit of a night mare! Not sure if I've just turned something on I shouldn't have, but after looking through the preferences there is nothing I can personally find which would affect this. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this that'd be great!

If Premiere is acting weird hold down shift+alt while opening Premiere.

Thanks! Worked for me too, but it also reset my project settings.
