Are you able to have Encore create an ISO on your hard drive instead of trying to go direct to a DVD?

John's step is a good test for many issues. Many of us never use Encore to burn.
But, especially if the build to image fails, the Encode Failed error may be due to long file name issues. Up to 80 characters will work. Anything longer fails.

Okey Dokey.
Can we please have some more detailed information?
1 - What is your TV standard?
2 - What are your source files video codec, frame rate, resolution etc?
3 - Can you post details of the fail?
4 - Can you post a screenshot of your project?

I just had the same problem. I deleted all contents( timeline, video files, and menu) and import video and menu files again and relink everything from start. And it works to burn a DVD. It seems a lot of work but it is much better than keeps trying to burn but getting fails. So I solved the problem by trying to build the files from start.
