Haven’t used PPro for a couple of weeks. Went back into a project to re-export something, and the export function had stopped working: Ctrl+M, File > Export > Media or going to the Export tab all just gave a grey screen with the spinner which sat there doing nothing.
I tried opening up a couple of other projects which were working fine, and exporting didn’t work with those either. (It had finished creating all peak files etc.) I could *play back* the timeline with no problems or glitching, which is weird; mostly, issues like this also affect playback in my experience.
Uninstalled PPro with CCCleaner & reinstalled. Restarted the machine. No dice.
Then I updated my gpu drivers. Suddenly, the export function worked. Great! I exported that timeline (1 of 2 I needed to export), but… when I went into the second timeline, and tried to export that, I’m back to export not working. Spinner. Nothing.
I’ve deleted cache, prefs, etc with Alt+Shift+startup. What’s going on? Is there anything else I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen again?
System: Threadripper 3960X, 128GB RAM, RTX 4090 24GB, Windows 11 Pro. Have updated everything I can think of.

Update: have opened the project on a laptop (updated GPU drivers and CC apps, but didn't bother cleaning cache etc) and it's all outputted fine. So there's some kind of glitch with the desktop.

Is there enough free space on the export drive and the C drive?

Hey Energetic_strength,
This is an old thread! I'm assuming you're facing this issue in Premiere 2025. Try relaunching your project, then immediately closing the Stock panel to see if that knocks the error loose.

Sorry for the frustration, I hope this helps.
