Export Size Too Big?

I have a 40 minute music track, and perhaps 30 to 40 images in sequence.
I am saving As H.264 and YOUTUBE 1080 29.7.
The export estimate is saying 4750mb... This seems too high? U figured it would be 250mb - ready for youtube basically??
Any ideas?

Export it and see how big it is. The 4750mb you get is just an estimate and is often (always) wrong.
If the result is too big, lower the bitrate and consider 2-pass VBR.

Thanks, will try export now.
Last week I exported an edit with 30+ clips, and same settings, was 250mb, though these images are maybe 13mb each!

The size of the exported files has nothing to do with the size of the original files. It´s all about the bitrate you choose when exporting. Still images can be exported at a low bitrate. For stills i use 2-pass VBR and set Target to 2.3 and Maximum to 30 when i do Blu-ray´s @1080p.

Estimated time is 5 hours! Can't be right?

The estimated time can be wrong as well but can be resonable depending on the frame size of the source footage, added effect filters, lack of horse power from the CPU, lack of a dedicated GPU for GPU accellerated features such as Scaling and effect filters.

It's a very simple sequence, no effects, filters, 2 transitions, culd be because the original images are 13 to 16mb each?

File size is essentially length times bitrate. To "shrink" the file you need to increase compression or set a lower bitrate.

Currently set to:
VBR 2 pass,
Target 8
Max 8
What could I try? Not famliar with this side.

Set Target to 2,3 and Maximum at around 20 to 30.
The Target is what really matters when it comes to file size and Maximum is good to set high for let´s say the transitions you have used, or hard cuts from pic A to pic B, etc.

Thanks, just done them now and it's estimating 1517mb... Still way too high?? I was hoping for 300mb max? For youtube?

It has to be because my pictures are about 15mb each?
I still have the original files, if I was to save thwm as maybe 2mb, is there a way I can simply swap over images so I don't have to re-cut them in again?

No, the file size of the original picture has nothing to do with it. Try to make each image 1 Mb in Photoshop and replace them in Premiere Pro and see if the exported file size is different.
Thanks, just done them now and it's estimating 1517mb
As i wrote, an estimation is just that, iow an estimation. Do the export to see the actual result. The estimated size do often not match the actual exported size.

It's saying 6 + hours render time, something isn't right.
I even deleted all the pics and tried to render just the track, and it didn;t change the estimate at all.

Stills do normally render out fast so +6 hours for a 40 minute timeline sounds problematic. To help finding the issue we need more details, such as;
- Exact version of Premiere Pro (Help > About Premiere Pro)
- Specific Operative system version and what OS, iow Windows or OSX
- Frame size of the source images
- Sequence Settings for the timeline (Sequence > Sequence Settings)
- File type of the source images, iow .jpg/.png/.psd/.tif/.gif
- Detailed computer specification, CPU, GPU
- How much RAM do you have installed
- Do you have GPU Accelleration enabled in Premiere Pro or not
- Are you exporting to the C: drive or not?
- How much aviable space are left on the disc/s?
For the Sequence Settings, please post a screen dump. 🙂

95GB free space out of 1TB (1000BG) is really on the low side and can really slow down a system drasticly. Anything under 10% free space left is many times unworkable with video. You need to free up some space or export to an external USB3 or Thunderbold disc.
You should create a new Timeline and make sure that is is 1920x1080 with a Pixel Aspec Ratio of 1.0. You have 1440x1080 with a PAR of 1.333 and that will also slow down exporting when exporting from 1440x1080, 1.333 to 1920x1080, 1.0. You can just copy the material in you 1440x1080 timeline and paste it into the 1920x1080 timeline, so it´s a fast fix.
With no GPU Acceleration enable Premiere Pro must downscale the images using only CPU and that slows down as well, but you main problem is the lack of discspace.

What's wrong with the current timeline?
That's just how it set up when I imported the pictures?

All video intended for the web has a Pixel Aspect Ratio of 1.0. All stills have a Pixel Aspect Ratio of 1.0 as well. You are using 1.333 on the timeline and then exporting as 1.0. This means that the pictures are degraded quality wise and will take longer to export. It a improper workflow when working with square pixel stills and square pixel video.
I am not saying this or anything else as an attempt to troll you.

I have tried to manually change to 1920 x 1080 but won't let me, even when I make new sequence, it won't let me go above 1440??
The editing mode is in HDV 1080p?

Set the Editing Mode to Custom is one way to do it.
CS6 is old, but if i remember correctly there are pre-made Presets for 1920x1080 @ 1.0.

The new setting have made my screen super wide, the pictures don't sit right, the 2nd one is how it was??

For the super wide, check the Sequence Settings. Make sure that it is 1920x1080 and have a Pixel Aspect Ratio of 1.0.

OK that sorted the screen, btu just tried to export and it's been stuck on 0% for about 5 minutes!
I also now have 120gb free on my one TB drive.
I give up on this now! I didn't even 'max render'
I exported a 8 minute ong vieo with 30 or so iphone x clips a week ago, took about 2 hours... But this is just not having it!
I'm giving up!
Just so I know, if I am going to upload DSLR clips, or IPHONE clips or pictures from dslr, what are the different settings? As in it appears I need to consider ratiios for different things.?!
