FIXED: Export issue for H.264 and HEVC with Premiere Pro 23.1

This issue has been fixed in Premiere Pro version 23.2.  Please update to get the fix.

We have identified a file name issue affecting H.264 and HEVC/H.265 exports on Windows with Premiere Pro 23.1

The issue impacts H.264 and HEVC/H.265 exports to folders with names that use double-byte characters, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or extended ASCII characters, like accents and umlauts. Affected users will see this message: File importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure of %filename.mp4%. Reading and writing this file’s metadata (XMP) has been disabled.

If you are experiencing this issue, use one of these options:

• Please update to version 23.2 where the issue is fixed
• The following workarounds are for 23.1
  • Choose an export destination folder that uses only single-byte ASCII English characters (no accents, umlauts, etc.)
  • Export to a different format, such as Apple ProRes.
  • For H.264 exports only: disable hardware-accelerated encoding.

@ R Neil Haugen Yes but I feel like when you say that it's a way to excuse how Adobe creates these updates that cause a host of issues that only affect "some" but not all users. I've noticed that it seems the newer 3xxx series GPU's have had this problem since October unfortunately. I appreciate your kind advice and I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, I'm just not happy with Adobe's software right now. Just confirmed I am running 517.40 and immediately had another BSOD.

according to Adobe employees, it is necessary to use English characters in the output file names and make sure that the path to the saved file also consists of folders of English characters. And alternatively, try to save your export to another disk. Try it

Oh thank you all though i import the Project in a New one with a different name and import first the sequence then the files and it all work out, it took a long while and i had to close every other window in order to let premiere worked perfectly. But the project exported correctly 🙂

Hola Armando, el problema se está presentando en la última actualización de adobe, versión (23.1). Se recomienda desinstalar dicha versión y reinstalar la versión anterior (23.0) en lo solucionan el problema.

Yo lo resolvi exportando un Apple prores y lo cargue en el After Effects e hice el render desde AF y lo hizo sin problemas, evidentemente es algun problema de la version 23.1

Saving the video in a folder with an English name worked... The new version is not accepting folders with special characters. Hope they can fix this bug as soon as possible.

• Issue - either Premiere Pro or After Effects are getting corrupted rendered videos. However, if I do not render the video to my main disk, C:/ unity, it will render properly (I've 120GB of free space).

• Video format: Since I used my Canon EOS Rebel SL3 with the EOS Webcam Utility inside my OBS, I'm not quite sure which is the format, so here is one of the files that were used.
• Workflow details: the project consists in only one sequence with no multicam, used 1 caption track that was generated with the Speech to Text (that was edited), 8 video tracks and 5 audio tracks. Here is the screenshot.
• Steps to reproduce -
  1 - Export the only sequence in the project "Sequência 01" to Media Encoder
  2 - Use the following settings.
  3 - Wait for Media Encoder to render the file.
• Expected result - export a working video file.
• Actual result -  the file will get the following error in the log:

1. In 3 PCs! with more than 300 GB free, i export and I get "File importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure. Reading and writing this file's metadata (XMP) has been disabled"

2. If I export to DOC - successful result.

3. In Encoder, if I uncheck in preferences Metadata > write XMP ID to files on import - a successful result

I got an error when working in Adobe Premiere Pro!  Screenshot

I have tried all the methods described on the forum in the threads created earlier..
1. I have enough disk space
2. Cleaned the application cache
3. Rebooted my computer.
4. Both disabled and enabled "Write XMP ID to Files on Import" Option

What I did, nothing helps. I need help with this.
