We are aware of an issue that prevents Export mode from loading for some users. When clicking Export in the header bar, a loading spinner is shown, but export mode fails to load. Selecting File > Export > Media or using the keyboard shortcut Command/Control+M, there is no result; you just stay in Edit mode. In these situations, exports won’t work in Premiere Pro. When in this state, Quick Export also fails to function.
This issue is known to affect Premiere Pro versions 23.2 and 23.3 on Mac and Windows.
If you are experiencing this issue, please update to version 23.4 or later to get the fix
If you can't update to 23.4, here are some workarounds to successfully complete your export in 23.3, 23.2:
Workaround #1 – Export with Media Encoder (RECOMMENDED)
Workaround #2 – Reset Premiere Pro preferences
Workaround #3 – Avoid using the “Match sequence preview settings” preset

It's free, which is nice and it allows you save your preferences, delete them and if that doesn't solve the problem, restore them... You can also save multiple backups so if things go south, you can restore an earlier version that you know was working properly. I used to use it constantly in FCP 7, where corrupt preferences were very common. in Premiere, not so common at least in my experience.

I have done my video and rendered it without trouble, but nothing happens when I press export.
I tried all export methods, but they never open.
I updated everything, drivers, windows, and the app itself.
I also tried to export a project that I exported 2 days ago but the problem is always there

Have you Clear the Media cache and reset the Preference?
Go to the File > Project Setting > General > and change the Render mode to " Software Only".

I have the exact same problem. I even uninstalled it and removed all preferences. still exporting does not work.

So many bugs, I ended up going to Davinci, never looked back.Most stable editor I've ever used to be honest. Not that it helps your problem but the issues with PP don't seem to go away.

Can Confirm that it's still occuring with the latest Version. I am currently reinstalling an older Version to see if thi helps. The other solution mentioned in this thread did not help.

I'm seeing this exact same issue on 2025.4.1, using macOS 15.6.1 on a MacStudio. I can export via AME, but not from PP - except every now and again it does work. I'm seeing this most especially on a project that has all media and projects hosted on LucidLink.

We have Premiere 25.5 available for download, I'm wondering if it would give you a better experience. Here's an article on how to update your apps.

I've been seeing this export problem since 2025.1, and it continues in 2025.5 which I've been running since it came out. No, I'm not exporting to LuciLink, but onto my system drive, which has tons of space (MacStudio internal SSD > 150Gb free, exported h.264 is ~4Gb.

I read your issue. This problem was solved in a previous version, but it is occurring to you now? Sorry to hear that. Is this a Team Project, Production, or anything else the team might need to know? You mentioned you had LucidLink but are not using it in this workflow, right? If you are, you may want to inspect the connectivity related to the network. I hope we can help you.

Hi Kevin, some clarifications: this is a Production, quite a large one (10 episode doc series). I'm using 2025.5, and the Export problem is still with me - I can DM Screen Recordings of it happening, it's highly repeatable, though annoyingly not every time - I've had two tech support calls where, of course, I couldn't get it to reoccur! But I do see it every day, and as I've said, it's not a showstopper because AME works just fine. No use of Team Projects. All media and projects are on LucidLink. Production footage is HD proxied DNxHD in MXF wrapper, and there are usually quite a few MP4's in the timelines too. When I export, I export to system drive.

Thanks for the added information. Thanks for the additional information. Nothing here, though, shows anything that could be a problem. No on e else is reporting the problem currently, so I don't have a clue as to what the issue is. Is the Production one that had been started a long time ago? Has Premiere Pro been updated numerous times? If so, you may have a corrupt project in your Production. That's the only thing I can think of. Sorry for the issue.
