Hello I have two new HP G5 Workstations both with Adobe Cloud running Premiere Pro.
The home computer never generates a Frame Substition error however at the non profit office I get this ofter.
Premiere Pro at the office makes it impossible to work with these recursion errors.
I was working on Premiere Pro 15.4.1. build 6 after uninstalling the current version. The current version has too many glitches. With the recursions anamolies I elected to upgrade to 2021 That did not help. Immedately got recursion messages. Then I uninstalled 2021 and upgraded to 2022 - and immedately got resursion messages. I am now installing the earlest version.
To survive and to keep working I need to go to another HP computer running Creative Suite CS6.
I am able to import the MOV files - and work on the edits.
I did read all the articles in a search for 'frame substitution' and whatever I could do to 'fix' the impairment did not work.
What's to do?
CS6 is performing splendidly.
Thanks for any advise.

I would start with moving the files to an internal drive and see if you get the same error. Second i would avoid using other letters than A-Z and 0-9 in file paths/file names. Always. Drop & ( ) from file paths and file names.
For example:
J\Film Transfer-1\Box 11\Tape 102-Q\Tape 102-Reel-Q4A.mov instead of J\Film Transfer-1\Box 11\Tape 102 & Q\(Tape 102) Reel Q4A.mov
How is the external drive attached, USB2, USB3, eSATA, Thunderbolt, or? (Assuming that you are using one...)

Hello
Indeed I did move from external usb the MOV files to the internal harddrive.
What screen capture is the errors from the external harddrive; I did not post the errors from the internal harddrive.
What is interesting I do exactly what I do here at the office - and then at home, to continue working, there is no issue.
I have another external usb sata harddrive that I save, as copy, the premiere pro project.
At home, same HP computer, same Premier Pro version, everything runs smoothly, as expected.
Thanks for posting, very helpful....

By @Ezad
So you get errors when using the files on an internal drive as well?

Yes. That is correct.

This is most interesting.
I converted the .MOV files to .MP4 - then imported the converted files into PP 2021 - and there were no resursion error messages. Everything is now working as expected.
