Gaussian blur crop issue

New Here ,
Jul 12, 2021 Jul 12, 2021

When I use the gaussian blur in premiere pro it automatically crops the edges of my video. Any idea how to fix this issue? bonus points if your fix keeps it from doing this in the first place.

Not sure whether i get your question right, but maybe you only have to activate "repeat edge pixels"

Does not fix it. I think I narrowed it down to the sequence settings. from there I have no clue

Well, the blur is not causing that.

In the project panel, create a new sequence, you select any HD format, then drop that clip onto the blank sequence, and if it askes to change the settings to match the sequence say yes. That clip looks more like a square aspect ratio. (4:3 vs 16:9). Post a screen shot of the sequence settings after you do above.

The sequence is set to 1920x1080. There clip is fine until you put the blur effect on there.

For those looking for solutions, try applying the Gaussian Blur effect to an adjustment layer. I just had the same issue in Premiere 25

I second this. This solved it for me.

I can't see the bottom portion of your Effects Control Panel screenshot, but if there is another effect below the blur, try placing the blur below other effects.

Try nesting the clip before adding the blur.

if repeat edge pixels does not work, try to switch renderers from project settings,

it might be related to a graphics card update

Most likely the clip does not match the sequence setting (as in pixel aspect ratio).
