GOODBYE Priemiere Pro or fix it

I’m a long-time Premiere Pro user, but I have to be honest—recently, it feels like the software isn’t keeping pace with the industry. Features like rotoscoping, which were hinted at in Adobe MAX, don’t have clear release timelines. Meanwhile, competitors like DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut are rapidly innovating with text effects, AI-assisted tools, and workflow improvements.

As a creator who wants to advance and stay competitive, it’s becoming frustrating. Premiere Pro feels like it’s been in “vacation mode” while technology around it evolves. I hope Adobe can accelerate development and bring modern features to Premiere Pro soon, because otherwise, many creators may consider switching to other platforms. I hope it's not too late until it sinks and there are no user left in priemre and everyone switch to different platform.

I still have all and still using it but honestly i am slowly trying to shift once i fully adapt to resolve because i am inbetween my project and it taking time for me to learn but honestly feels better. I don't like to say it but it's honest opinion. Adobe announced rotoscoping for Premiere Pro over a year ago, yet here we are in 2025 with nothing. Not a single real update in can see about it, not even an article, feels like only a hype. or you can update regarding it in beta forum? lol Meanwhile, the editing ecosystem has evolved, but Premiere Pro still feels stuck in 2019.

There’s no magic mask, color grading tools are limited, and the so-called “innovations” lag far behind the market. DaVinci Resolve has already cracked what modern creators need, and it’s painful to see Premiere fall behind because their team either can’t adapt or simply refuses to.

The creators many of us grew up watching — like Sam — have already shifted to Resolve. And it’s not about preference anymore. Clients now demand market-style edits, new trends and subtitle effects, and flexible color workflows. you have to take to after effects just to rotoscope a simple thing, Resolve delivers that instantly. Premiere Pro? Basic subtitles, outdated keyframing, and third-party plugins just to do something modern. It’s inefficient, slow, and years behind where it should be.

It’s 2025, not 2016. The gap is only getting worse. If they don’t wake up and adapt to what creators actually need, Premiere Pro will sink deeper until no one uses it in 2–3 years. The industry is moving forward, but Premiere Pro feels like it’s on vacation.

Creators don’t want excuses. They want tools that keep pace with today’s creative demands. If Adobe doesn’t listen and adapt, they’ll be left behind. I am not saying you cannot do anything on primere but they need to adapt based on market. give us basic tools like rotoscope damn even capcut has it then why not priemere ?

Hey Jerry,

Really sorry for the frustration you're experiencing. Would you be able to share more details on the crash? Maybe we can help!

For starters, please share your system details (OS, RAM, CPU, GPU) and some information about when exactly it's crashing. Is this an old project, or a brand new one? Here's a community thread with some suggestions about how to share all the info that might help us provide you with a solution.

Thanks,

Caroline
