Help! Multichannel Audio Track Assignment

New Here ,
Nov 11, 2017 Nov 11, 2017

Hi all!

I have a multichannel audio sequence, I need to ouput it to 4 channels. The mix is basically stereo so naturally I've assigned the mix to be on 1+2, then 3+4 (so, L, R, L, R)

My issue is, the client has requested the following;

Track 1 - Stereo LEFT

Track 2 - Stereo LEFT

Track 3 - Stereo RIGHT

Track 4 - Stereo RIGHT

So basically, when you export from Premiere I have the option to send everything to the 4 channels, but I can't see how I can output Stereo LEFT to 1+2, and Stereo RIGHT to 3+4. Any ideas?

Thanks!

So you basically have a stereo mix (LR) that you have to deliver as LLRR

Create an adaptive submix and route Source 1 to output 1&2 and Source 2 to outputs 3&4

Route your source tracks via that submix (i.e. instead of master - drop down above fader)

Sample project...

Dropbox - StereoLR to LLRR.zip

No problem - weird delivery requirement though, do they really want that?

Or is your original mono full mix / m&e and they want dual mono of each - that would make sense.

It is a strange delivery requirement.. Their words;

"1+2 stereo left, 3+4 stereo right - we’ll need multi-track audio for each of the VTs, not just a

stereo mix, so all the individual mono audio tracks please."

So I'm outputting a MOV with 4 channel of audio that's now L, L, R, R... Seems like that's what they are after?

I would clarify that what they are saying (LLRR) is what they mean, rather than really wanting LRLR (which is much easier to deliver AND more normal!) - sounds like they are possibly also asking for stems, without actually asking for them.

Yeah good tip, thanks.. I did go back to them and just repeated back to them what I'll be delivering. Does seem like an odd way to do it. I did deliver stems before as an OMF and they didn't like it...
