HEV1 Unsupported Compression Type

Using Premiere Pro 2019 and have an H265 file that is compressed with HEV1. I can open all kinds of HEVC files in Premiere Pro except this one and looking at it says it doesn't support HEV1. Is this true?

Tried the rename the file thing, clearing the cache, moving the file, renaming the file name, renaming the file extension.

The more appropriate way of saying this may be I can open HEVC files that are done with HVC1 but hot HEV1.

We're sorry to hear about this. Hev1 should work in Premiere Pro. Please confirm the source of this media file and the version of Premiere Pro that you are using.

So I had another HEVC file that it loaded and coverted to a smaller HEVC file without issue. Unfortunately don't have the source anymore, just the Premiere output.

My version info and more detail than asking::

Windows 10 fresh build

Dual Xeon CPU

96 GB Ram

NVidia Quadro M4000 with latest Studio drivers

Premiere Pro 2019 13.1 Magician (not sure if there is a sub version somewhere)

Should note when I try to import these files I am getting about 46GB of RAM usage by Premiere if that matters. Status bar is locked as not responding and then returns the Compression error eventially.

I am able to load some HEVC Big Buck Bunny and other HEVC files.

premiere pro does not support hev1 filles and i cant change the decode to my file help me

Some files in the HEVC format are not read, some are read without problems.

I don't know what's going on in Adobe and what's being done to support all the damn working codecs. I've had this behavior since version 22 of Pr or earlier, I don't remember anymore. Before that, all formats were read without problems. Now there are only problems with HEVC and you have to convert to a low format while losing frame quality. This is crazy.

I checked the same files in DaVinci, everything works perfectly. Adobe sort out your "kaluars" and return HEVC to its previous level of performance.
