How can I remove audio Hardware/Devices from list?

I have been playing around with a variety of soundcards and now I've chosen the one I'm going to stick with I'm left with lots of Devices in the drop down menu under: Preferences/Audio Hardware/Devices. They have all but one been removed from my system but are still showing up, no idea why, does anyone know how I can remove these from the list as resetting the preferences on launch did not work? Thank you

Remove/Disable  the Drivers from your Hardware>Devices in your O.S

This doesn't work as they are not listed in the Hardware Devices. Can you be more specific?

When I said I removed them from my system I meant they do not appear in the Device Manager of OP anymore. thanks
