How can I swap a picture in the middle of a running video and leave only part of the picture?

I have a video and I want at some point within the video to swap an image so that part of the image remains.
How can this be done?

its like in this video from 0:01 - 0:05 

On the bottom right there is a white section that says information there.
I want it to stay and all the background will disappear and I want to put another picture in place instead.

Anything you want to stay in the video, place it on top track - V2 or V3. This way, it will stay on top of the video (and you can make it semi transparent). Then, add videos/images on bottom track - V1.

If you want images to change, place then sequentially on V1, one by one, and they will change one into the other.

Drop an image onto a track above the existing image.

Place the image on a video track above the existing one.

You can also right click on the image and choose Replace with image in bin if your image is selected in the bin.

You cannot just swap an image in an existing video.

You need to superimpose the new image

You will need to place your image on a track above the video and keyframe its size, position, and scale so that it always covers the original image in the video.

That is where masks come in to show but a part of the frame.

Are you just starting out with video editing and particular with Premiere Pro?

Looks simple, but it involves a lot of different aspects of the program.

go to where you want to swap the image on timeline

make a still image of that frame

put it photoshop and save as 'image1-swap1 or something'

use pen tools or whatever to delete everything in frame except your image to be replaced.

go into that image space ( your example white with black letters ) and replace info with new info.

save the image.

go to timeline and put that image above your video layer ( like put on v2 if you are in v1 )

extend or contract the image on v2 to fit how long you want it there.

you may have to have some knowledge of how to use photoshop re: transparency and fill and sample color of background etc... all that stuff... but if you know how to use psd then it should be easy.

if you make a cut at the spot where you want this to work you can use the cti as a guide to place the new image above with accuracy

don't forget.... film and video is frames per second.

still frames per second.

it's an illusion

like an optical illusion

your brain thinks it's real motion and reality but it's not.

it's many still frames showing you stuff fast enough so your brain THINKS it's motion.

So, if you keep that in mind, and want to change an element within a video ( like what you want to do ) it helps to keep in mind that the basic element is a FRAME.
