Alt + 0200 to enter upper case E with a grave accent (È) Alt + 0232 to enter lower case e with a grave accent (è) Alt + 0202 to enter upper case E with a circumflex accent (Ê) Alt + 0234 to enter lower case e with a circumflex accent (ê)

In case this might be helpful for other users with similar issues. I ended
up creating my multi language docs in Pages (mac) and simply copy/pasting
into Premiere Pro. PP automatically formatted to the pre-existing font and
font size.

I type in ` (grave) followed by e.g. e which makes è.

Make sure your keyboard is set to international.
