I exported a project as an xml file where i changed the position of the video in the effect control, i want to know where exactly in the xml this gets reflected.I don't see the values (the exact values i saw in premiere pro)in xml, rather i see some other values. Is there any internal calculation from your part?
Many effect controls / details are lost, when you save to FCP XML.
Here's a test that would tell you exactly where such changes, if any, occur:
0. Set up sequence.
1. Export sequence as "unchanged.xml".
2. Change just one param, in which you're interested.
3. Export sequence as "modified.xml".
4. Compare "unchanged.xml" and "modified.xml" in a file diffing utility; you'll find out exactly what changed. Again, nothing may.

I changed the position param in effect control and saw changes in the centre tag in xml which gives me some values that are not related to the values that i set for position. Is there some internal calculation done or how is the position values mapped to centre tag in xml?

it depends of which part of the XML are concerned, but for some of them they are encoded using Base64.
for exemple text and value of the old titler / and the new essential graphics

If I remember correctly (and if it's still of interest), FCP uses a translation to 1024 or 2048 [-1..1] ... you will find out by moving your image 100% to the left or the right...or top... or bottom. Or save time by combining two! 😄
