How to create multiple sequences in as few clicks as possible

Im working on a large project and looking to create multiple sequences in as few clicks as possible. I have my footage categorized into bins such as Start, Middle, End. I would like to be able to create as many unique permutations as possible from the footage. So lets say I have 5 clips of each type, that would be 125 versions.

For example...
Start Footage 1, Middle Footage 1, End Footage 1
Start Footage 2, Middle Footage 1, End Footage 1

Etc. Until all possible variations are created. I think I need a script/plugin or extension. Is there anything like this?

You will need an extension, either of your own making, or perhaps Mathias'.

Is each clip in its group the same length? If so, a quick way to handle this could be by creating multicamera source sequences for each group. This way, you can duplicate a sequence and use number keys to switch between different clips.

For example, if you have a sequence with Start 1, Middle 1, and End 1, you could duplicate it five times and use number keys 1-5 to change the End clip.

Then, duplicate the sequence again, change Middle 1 to Middle 2, and duplicate this sequence five times to use number keys 1-5 to switch between different End clips.

Unfortunately not, the clips vary in legnth, and the number of clips per category can also vary. I think i need some sort of script or automation

This sounds like my (paid) extension Automation Blocks for Premiere Pro would be very helpful for you.

Hi @Ecomguru123, have you looked into the solution @Mathias Moehl suggested?

Yes, I just took a look at that. Do you have some experience using this tool for this functionality?

Hey Mathias. I appreciate your reply. Your tool looks really interesting to achieve this functionality. My thought was to structure it so that I have the Start Clips, Middle Clips, and End Clips separated by folder within the project. Then based off that classification I could send them to the timeline.

Will your tool work if the number of clips within the categories isnt the exact same? For example, lets say I want to create new sequences for all possible unique combinations using 10 starting clips, 5 middle clips, and 3 ending clips? One thing to note, is that start clips will never need to be ending clips or vice versa. If it is a start clip, i will only need it to occur at the start.

Mathias - do you have an example of how this would be achieved with AB? Like in the other thread you linked?

Awesome! Does this mix start clips as end clips, or do the clips hold their position? I.E i would not want middle clips occuring as end clips, or end clips as start clips etc

You have three different bins (one for start clips, one for middle clips and one for end clips). Then the tool just picks start clips from the bin with the start clips. etc

I see - so is it able to create all possible variants of the start / middle / end? For example, if there is 5 starts, 5 middle, 5 end. The output would be 125 clips?
