I am unable to find how to delete or edit the new local style introduced in 24.3 once it is created. Rightclicking yields no results  and now I'm stuck with three copies named the same way without being able to remove or edit the others.

Yes I've been seeing this too. One thing to keep in mind is that when you first switch to the Style Browser you'll see BOTH Local and Project Styles together, so if you've saved a style as a Local AND applied it in a project you'll see it listed twice. If you click on the Local or Project sorting checkboxes at the top it will limit the view to one or the other. (I think this needs some work to be honest).

Make sure you don't have all of your projects checked off in the Style Browser, as any style applied in multiple projects will appear several times. If you want to remove a Style from a project, it should be visible in the bins as a small Pr icon; just select and delete.

If you need to remove a Local text style, I found mine on my Mac in Documents>Adobe>Common>Assets>Text Styles
