How to entirely deselecting audio tracks on source in Premiere Pro

How to entirely deselecting audio tracks on source in Premiere Pro.

 I want to edit a clip that has 16 audio tracks, but I want to use only 2 tracks audio out . I only have two tracks in the sequence, so the timeline in the source shows two tracks as well, but it also adds a small plus sign, which when you press it shows all 16 tracks, Then you can uncheck all the tracks by clicking on any track with a shift button,  Premiere creating those tracks in the sequence as well.

and after this operation I have to delete  also unnecessary tracks from the sequence.

Is it possible to disable tracks from the source without unrolling the all audio  tracks ?

You can modify the audio channel configuration of the clip itself, which would essentially eliminate other tracks from appearing.

Right click the clip(s) in question Modify > Audio Channels, and then make adjustments as necessary. For example, you can make it a Stereo clip instead which just uses 2 source channels as the two tracks.

Thanks for the answer, but that's not the way to do it. (!) 

With audio clips connected with video using merge clips, even if you change track configurations, Premiere put these disabled tracks on timeline (!)

The change must be done before you put the clips on the timeline.

For example, if you have used ten clips, on the timeline, or merging them, and then go to Modify > Audio Channels and set the clips to use only 2 channels that change will not reflect any of the clips you have already used. Modify > Audio Channels must be done before the clips are being used in Premiere Pro, used as in placing the clips on the timeline or merging them in Premiere Pro.

what you write is obvious, but it doesn't work with merge clips files. I'm gonna send you a video.

The point is that the clip in the merge clips option, as the edited timeline must increase the number of the audio  tracks to the actual one in the clip... even if it is changed to one audio track ..really strange (!)

If I'm working on a large sequence and don't want to increase the number of the tracks on timeline  I don't know what to do

I see similar issues here when i merged a video clip with a 8-channel audio clip. When i use Modify > Audio Channels and set it as per the attached image the first time i add it to the timeline with Insert/Overlay all eight channels are added to the timeline, but one track is missing from the clip. All subsequent uses of Insert/Overlay on the same timeline behaves as expected but it all repeats if i create a new timeline.

I have no solution or a workaround. It seems that this is a bug. File the bug here.

I wouldn't write about it because you can first make a stringout sequence and then edit to a new sequence , but later on if you want to make a match frame Premiere Pro directs to a merged clip and not to the stringout sequence,  so you get a clip with all these audio tracks on source window , and you have to put them in a sequence that creates a mess.

I've found a solution to this. It might help many editors . When doing Merge clips you have to modify the sound source. So if the sound engineer has recorded 4 tracks for your movie , you have to choose the ones you need e.g. Boom + Lav . Then you have 2 tracks and you don't have to worry that somewhere in the clips are mess.
