When I press spacebar to playback my timeline, there is a couple seconds of delay. It's not the biggest issue in the world but when editing fast-paced jumpcuts and precise timing which needs you to keep replaying videos, these seconds of waiting add up and get really annoying.
It's very inconsistent, sometimes it plays back instantly and sometimes I have to wait for a few seconds of lag. I have tried putting the preview resolution all the way down, cleared cache and there is plenty of storage.
Any ideas?

Hi andrey_7747,
Sorry about the poor experience. Would you mind sharing a screenshot of Audio Hardware preferences window in Premiere Pro? Also, let us know the version of Premiere Pro you are using & the system specs.
Thanks,

Im using the latest 2025 version and I have a RTX 3060TI and an I5 12600kf with 32gb ram, none of which seem to be the bottlenecks as task manager says my system is barely being used. These are not very demanding projects whatsoever and I am completely lost I have tried everything.

Have you tried what @Peru Bob wrote in this thread a couple of days ago? If not, try it! 🙂

Are you still experiencing this issue? Let us know if Peru Bob's suggestion of making changes to Audio Hardware preferences helped in solving the issue.
Thanks,
