How to make text thinner?

I've tried using stroke and drop shadow, but can't think of other ways.

One option is to change font.

Another: turn off uniform scale and increase height and decrease width. Adjust tracking to spread width back out as needed.

Do you have enought pixels (frame size) to make this work?
