Hello guys!
Im still very much a beginner, so please help me in as much detail as possible if you guys can.
I've been editing a music video for a friend of mine who is a musician. He needs me to embed an ISRC code into his video. How do I go about doing that in Premier Pro?
Kind regards
Richard
You can add custom metadata in the 'Metadata Export' dialog. Open it up by clicking the 'Metadata...' dialog button at the very bottom of the 'Export Settings' dialog (File > Export > Media or Ctrl+M/Cmd+M). Under both 'Dublin Core' and 'Basic', paste your ISRC code - with the word ISRC in front - in the 'Identifier' (or 'ID') field - i.e. "ISRC CC-XXX-YY-NNNNN".
This should be sufficient.

Thanks so much for the help 🙂 is there any thing else I should fill out under the Dublin Core and Basic, or is that sufficient?
Kind regards
Richard

Hi Richard,
you're welcome 🙂 You might want to fill out some of the other fields (putting the song title into the 'Title' field, for example), just to be safe.
Also, this is worth keeping in mind:

Thanks so much 🙂
Do you think its necesarry to edit the ID3 tags on the music video in a tagger afterwards and add in the ISRC code there as well? I came across it the other day on the ISRC Registration Authority:
Apologies, Im completely new to this.
kind regards

I'm not sure if it's necessary, but: if you have time to add it, do it. It can't hurt 🙂
And hey, no worries - we all have been new to something in life 😉
Kind regards,
Maurice

Hello there
I added the metedata. I think it's an xmp file embed in the video. I didn't select individual categories, although I just used basic and Dublin Core, but Im worried that the xmp file contains confidential information about my pc and file. Is this true? Let me know? I embedded all the categories I think, as I didn't select individual ones, although I only used Basic and Dublin Core

Hello Richard and Maurice,
I have an additional question on this topic. For music videos, there are 2 ISRC codes - one for video and another for audio. Are there correlations between these two codes and the categories you mentioned above: Dublin Core and Basic? For example, should the video code go in the Dublin Core identifier, and audio go in Basic? Please advise if you know the answer.. thank you so much.

I would LOVE to know the answer to this too. I was told by ISRC.com that the audio ISRC that was embedded in the wav file I added into my music video does not get preserved when the video is rendered as an mp4. So how does the audio ISRC get added? Is it in the ID3 tags or is that only for the video ISRC?

I have the same question using Final Cut Pro ..I tired sound grind the had to reimburse me b/c it wouldn't render for mp4 ..we just need a platform that allows us to embed our ISRC onto our videos so that we can be sound scanned when videos are released

Also here from Final Cut (and Davinci), have been searching for a week on proper information.
