I would recommend doing this in the Essential Graphics panel.

  1. Go to Graphics and Titles > New Layer > From File and load your PNG.
  2. In the Essential Graphics panel, add a new polygon layer, scale and position it over your PNG, and move its anchor point to the center of your PNG.
  3. Tick Mask with Shape at the bottom.
  4. Select both layers, then click Create Group (folder icon).
  5. Duplicate the group for each new part, and rotate the shape to mask a different part of the PNG.

To animate the individual pieces, click the Group layer and adjust its position settings.
