I have a 2009 Mac Pro 5,1 with MacOS Mojave 10.14. How can I get a version of Premiere that will install? The 'other versions' option does not appear in the Creative Cloud app? This machine is more capable than most modern PCs. Not to mention I've invested a lot of time and money keeping it updated/upgraded. I have a subsciption to Adobe Creative Cloud and its currently worthless to me. I've been working on resolving this myself for days. Very frustrated. Any help please?

JR,
Sorry about this problem. In addition to Adobe Support, I'm a longtime editor and former internal contractor (FCP tech writer, FCP/Motion QE) at Apple.
Your efforts in keeping a 14-year-old Mac working for your business are impressive. I'm aware of the community that keeps these machines in working order. It's great. There's only one problem: its time is probably up. It cannot meet system requirements in key areas, like macOS and the GPU.
All computers eventually will stop becoming updatable with current software and the OS. At a certain point, usually at the 5-year mark, that computer needs to be locked down on the last OS and version of software you can install. Never update this computer again, and continue working with it as long as possible. After 14 years, I believe you deserve a new computer. You can move forward with a modern Mac, new hardware, and current formats. I hope it works out.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate that you feel I deserve a newer computer. 🙂 Actually I have several newer PCs but I've maintained this Mac for many reasons - mostly because it is so upgradable and I already paid my thousands of dollars for it once upon a time, and I'm not about to buy a new Mac Pro when I could use that same money to buy an all expense paid trip to Dubia or a new Land Rover.
The issue is only apparently that Apple (in their ongoing quest to control and dominate their customers) has forbidden me from updating the OS beyond their predetermined point in an attempt to force us to buy new machines at 10 - 20 times the price. SO that they can lock down THAT machine in 5 years and try to bleed me for MORE money. The machine is very capable of running Premiere and most of the latest games. The only potentially weak point in the hardware is the GPU which is an Nvidia Q4000/K4000 (I forget exactly the name) but it only has apparently 3GB RAM. It is metal supported. Anyways, I've got a new AMD Radeon 8GB GPU on the way. May once that's in Premiere will install.
The compounding problem is that Adobe seems to be in the same boat as Apple in forcing users to upgrade when they dont want to. Is there no place where I can download an older version of Premier that will run on MacOS Mojave? If not, I may end up forcing an update to the OS to get it on a later release.

Hi JR,
Sorry, friend. I understand that you want this computer to keep working. Contact us via chat if you want to find older versions to install. The chat pod is in the lower right. Ask for the video queue. They can help you with the installer you need.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks again. Feels like I'm getting close to a solution now but I can't access Adobe Chat support apparently because of my company/enterprise subsciption. Seems odd to me. I would think our company license would include Adobe Chat support. Any other suggestions?...

Sorry about that, JR. Yes, that's right, if you have an enterprise or educational account: contact options. Your IT rep should be the one providing one-to-one support. You can also check out: resources for users.
I would also ask the IT representative if they might have that version in their archives, as they provide the app packages. Is it possible to ask them?
Let us know if we can assist.
Thanks,
Kevin
