Import Error: the importer reported a generic error

Hello all,

I have been working on a project on my laptop while on vacation and wanted to continue the work on my home PC now. However, when opening the project on PC, premiere fails to read/link 20-30% of the video files (at random, it seems).

Running PP version 23.6 on both machines. Only difference I see: laptop still runs on Win 10, whereas PC on Win11 and Intel vs AMD CPUs.

Media files, project, cache, scratch are saved on an external SSD drive, which I simply plug into the machine I want to work on - never had a problem.

I just counterchecked, and it still works fine on my laptop, i.e. PP is able to open/read/playback all media files. Hence, I assume the files are not corrupt, nor is the external SSD.

Any ideas?

Thanks upfront

Updating my PCs NVidia driver to the latest version and/or cleaning PP Media Cache files solved my problem. As suggested to users who reported the same error in this community before: I should have digged in a bit deeper before posting.
