Importing large folders problem

When I import a folder that contains a lot of 4k material, Premiere pro 23.1 for some strange reason starts to fill the memory of the graphics card (nvidia 3090 24gb VRAM), when it is full, the whole system crashes and restarts. My configuration

amd 5900x 64gb ddr4 3600mhz

system disk 1tb 970EVO+

working disk with cache (KC3000 gen 4) 2tb

In this case, Premiere pro does not use RAM at all.

dakula,

Thanks for the screenshots. The crash is odd, but PR may do a lot of processing when importing files.

How are you importing (via media browser, dragging the folder to PR)?

What are the "ingest" settings? Proxies being created? Or any other settings that result in PR doing work on the files as they are imported? File -> Project Settings -> Ingest Settings.

If it takes long enough, try opening the Progress panel to see if it shows you what PR is trying to do. Window -> Progress.

In any event, I'd try importing one file, then a few. Does that work?

I don't use a proxy, I imported via media browser, right click on the folder - import.

PPro seems to have confused RAM with VRAM.

I will try to record the whole process when I get some 4k footage!

in the background of the clip is Ppro, but windows software cannot record it, here you can see how PPro fills VRAM, the folder is 97gb in size, HD material, when I import 4k, the system crashes!
