I'm trying to edit some videos but when I try to import them the import window pops up and then Premiere gives a Not Responding error.
I edited these videos in a different program a while back and I want to use Premiere to create a sort of highlights reel. I don't get the same issue when I import a different video that was edited on the same program with the same resolution, etc. Essentially one of the three files will import perfectly and I was able to edit it and export it but the other two crash the program on import.
How do I figure out what's going on and get Premiere to import these videos?
My laptop uses a GTX 1050 Ti, i7, single monitor.
Happy to provide additional data if that helps.
Hi there,
Sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. We would need more info to troubleshoot the issue properly. Please let us know the media properties (resolution, frame rate, codec) and also the location where it's saved (a local internal/external drive or a network drive). Also, have you tried importing that media in Media Encoder and checked if it's importing properly or not? ( If it imports properly in Media Encoder, try transcoding it and then import the transcoded file in Premiere Pro

Using the Media Encoder helped. I reached out to the support team and they walked me through it.
Thank you!

MP4 is a wrapper, what is inside YOUR wrapper - Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing - For Windows Internet Explorer press the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard, and then do CTRL-V to paste the screen print from the clipboard into a forum message
Free programs to get file information for PC/Mac http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download
- when you analyze your file in MediaInfo and post a screen shot in the forum, do so in TREE view
