Insta360 plugin. premiere pro crash

Community Beginner ,
May 29, 2022 May 29, 2022

i updated to the latest versions of both insta360 plugin (4.3.1) and premiere pro (22.4)  (os - win 11)

d premiere pro projects just shut down after a minute of opening. when i delete the plugins,  premiere pro works fine.

i am working on a project that mostly has 'insta one r' videos.  without d pligins,  its a waste... what to do.

I have solved it.
So what was the case..
I have installed 360studio which contains the Insta360 Plugin for Adobe Premiere.
Than I have also installed GoPro FX ReFrame from GoPro and this was the moment Adobe Pr didn't want to start..I had to find the folder where (I don't have now the path but you can find it easily) and delete it. Since than everything works normally.

Regards,
Aleks

Hey SUDARSHAN RANGAPRASAD,

Have you tried contacting insta360 support and asking if this is a known issue for them? For testing purposes, could you roll back to the previous version of Premiere Pro and let us know if that works for you? Also, let us know your system specifications (OS, CPU, GPU, RAM).

Regards,

Ishan

Hi Alamnji,

Which version of the plug-in are you running? Have you contacted Insta360 support? What do they say? I have heard that the plug-in version 3.5.7 still works. Can you try that?

Thanks,
Kevin

The project cannot be open because there's an insta360 video, I've already download all the plugins that the file requires so the insta360 file can work in premiere pro. When i first making the project, the file work and i can edit it. but when i open the working file again, it won't open. is there any solution for this problem?

Hi @rhahmatt - Can you try holding shift while opening premiere and then selecting disable third party plugins.  Let us know if that helps your issue.  I would check to make sure you have the latest plugins installed.  Insta360 may have not updated it to work with 24.5 yet.

i've already try your solution and it seems that the problem is the insta360 plugin. may i ask, is there any way that you know on how to fix this problem? I've read the instruction about the plugin information from the insta360 website, here is the link https://www.insta360.com/support/supportcourse?post_id=17067&locale=en-us

Hi @rhahmatt - Can you try installing 24.4.1 and see if that helps your issue.  I would also contact insta360 support and let them know your issue with Premiere version 24.5.

answering my own question incase it helps others. Go to Folder:

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore

   -Delete gopro folder.

Everything is working again, including able to edit 360 footage in preimere pro.

Another reason the premiere could be crashing due to the Insta 360 plugin is that the older plugin (Reframe) is the one that works, while the newer version 2 is the one crashing and causing .insv files or .lrv files to disappear as well. I exported not to have to deal with the issue, but still chose to use my .lrv files as my proxies which ultimatley **** me. Most likely, the most secure way to ensure your 360 footage's safety from updates to the studio and to reframe plugin is to export the .insv file to a 360.mp4 and do the same thing with the .lrv proxy files. Hope this can help.
