Is Accelerated Intel h.264 decoding now working properly in 2018 CC?

In previous versions, it was recommended that this be unchecked in the Media section of P-Pro & ME preferences. I have an Intel i7-6950X, 128 Gb RAM, 7 x 2Tb SSDs in a RAID 6 and an nVidia Titan X Pascal. Does my hardware configuration qualify for enabling this feature? I've just heard in the past that checking this box under any circumstances was inviting trouble.

I have it checked without issue.  (Though I've never run any tests to see what difference it makes.)

Jim, I've been using it w/o problems the last several days, so I'll keep it on. Like you, I haven't had time to benchmark it yet! Was hoping for more user experiences, but at least I heard from one of the most reliable people on this forum!

The decoding feature will now be frequently confused with the new encoding feature.  For that matter, Adobe has always been purposefully vague about the system requirements for (and pathway to enable) Intel hardware acceleration in this regard, involving Quick Sync on select CPUs.  More here:  www.focuspulling.com/cc2018
