I'm working with Premiere Pro CC 2020 on a Macbook Pro, Catalina OS. I just imported a project with a number of clips using Media Browser, and one file is being rejected as being an incorrect file format or damaged. I know the file type is fine because all the other files loaded as usual. I also tried using the Import command, but no luck with that.
I am able to see the file with Handbrake, and am converting the file to an mp4, but I'm concerned that the quality will not be as good for editing color once I have the file in the timeline. Are there any other workarounds to get the MXF file to load, or another conversion method that would retain more information than an mp4? I do have the full Creative Suite loaded on my machine.
Try converting that clip to ProRes or Cineform that will work just fine, as they are visually lossless.

I also had this problem today with after an upgrade to Premier 2020 on Windows. Still had Premier 2019 on my computer so ipened that and no problem accessing teh P2 .mxf files that Premier 2020 said were unsupported or damaged. Expoting a MP4 file to use in Premier 2020. Obviously a Premier 2020 bug - Adobe developers can you fox this please? Fr teh moment i have a workaround but it would be great if I didn't need to do this. Thanks Catherine.
