Issues uploading after export

Hi guys, I'm fairly new to Premiere Pro but I'm having one major issue which is causing me to be put off from using this further.

I've made a few videos that when I export them and upload them to YouTube & Instagram, the quality is lacking severely. Youtube will only upload it in maximum 480p which is disappointing to say the least.

I am filming with a Sony a6000 at 24fps and 1/50 shutter speed. I am importing to Adobe Premiere Pro CC and editing my video just fine there, but perhaps my settings when I export the video are wrong? Could anyone please help me with this as I am sure I am filming and editing in HD but the final product is far from HD and like I said it's really putting me off making any more videos.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?

Please help.

What I recommend for exporting videos for YouTube is to make note of the frame size of your video and highlight the sequence and use Media Encoder. Media Encoder needs to be downloaded separately from Premiere on Creative Clouds.

File/Export/Media then hit the Queue button on the bottom of the exporter. When Media Encoder opens you should see your video in the encoding tab.

The lower left panel has presets. I would roll through the presets until you find the YouTube preset (under web video) that matches your frame size.

You can drag the preset onto the path your video in the Queue panel to adopt that preset. You can also click on the blue path to change the destination if you like.

This should give you the best quality video for YouTube. It should also upload faster to YouTube when processed.
