i dont know what is going on with the legacy titles these days
it used to just called "title" and it was in a pretty easy place to find, then the moved it for no apparent reason to a place where its rather hard to find, and renamed it "legacy title" - what does that even mean?
now it seems all of the properties and tools , font sizes, colors etc. are hidden by default and have to be activated manually in order to be accessed. lucky for those of us who have been using premiere long enough to know they are there in the first place. imagine what it must be like for someone who is new to the program.
on another note,
its not half as user friendly as it should be.
for example, creating simple movie titles with right justified, centre justified and left justified font. standard movie titles. is pretty tricky and requires most beginners to watch tutorials on how to do it. actually many of the premiere users i know dont seem to know how to do it.
come one....it is such a common thing, this kind of thing should be just one click as it is in so many other software out there.

The Legacy Titler is an older system and is being replaced by the Essential Graphics panel or EGP.
And yes, there are many differences so it is good to see articles and tutorials. Some new capabilities have been added into the EGP.

Like R Neil Haugen said, legacy titles has been largely phased out in favor of the new Essential Graphics Panel. Much easier to do a wide spread of stuff with titles.
Check out this article for some tips and how-to's: Create titles and motion graphics with the Graphics workspace in Premiere Pro.

oh right, well that explains a lot
they should probably just get rid of the legacy title then.

As long as the Titler is operational it should be made easy to access, not have to puzzle it together first. Despite the new EGP (which imo still is not complete).

Yes, but the catch is that since it is dubbed "Legacy," development may have largely ended for this toolset (though I am not certain). I have asked for a bug fix, but I would not wager that devs will take it up.
Continue to file bugs and feature request against the new tools instead. I think you will have a better result. Agree that this "in between stage" can be a little difficult to take. I wish that the ramping down of the tool would not be this bumpy. My apologies.
Thanks,
Kevin

I am guessing we are stuck with a buggy legacy Titler until Adobe decides to remove it from the program.

I think you're probably right about that, Ann ... down at NAB, the engineers would listen patiently to discussions of problems with the Legacy Titler ... and then point out how the EGP can now handle most of those things ... which sounds a lot like the "Legacy" is just hanging around a bit longer ...
