So this only happens if I update to version 25.1.
When dragging the sliders in lumetri color the changes are lagging a lot, not real time like they used to. I switched back to version 25.0 and everything works perfect again. Reinstalled 25.1 and same problem. I have been paying for the Adobe subscription for a long time now and things like this make me want to reconsider continuing. My gpu drivers all up to date, Nvidia rtx 4080, I9 13900k, 64GB 6400mhz.
Anyone had a similar problem?
PS: I cleared the cache and reset the preferences but nothing. Global fx mute is not active. There are also not many layers stacked and the footage is very easy to work with, nothing hard on the cpu or gpu.
Hi @Lex98A5 ,
Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums! We are glad to see you here. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue. Please see, How do I write a bug report? Also did you check and see if it's an adjustment layer that is causing the problem? That would be good information to pass along to try and help solve this issue.
Thanks for submitting your bug report. I hope we can help you soon. Sorry for the frustration!
Thanks,
Hi @eiriklush
I am looking into other similar issues and trying to merge your post with those. We have been seeing issues with the adjustment layers an are looking into this. I will try to merge this conversation to other relevant issues we have seen.
Thank you

Do you have the problem with new projects on 25.x, or only projects you are updating?
At times a cleaner update to new major app versions is done by creating a new project file in the new version, then importing the assets of the older project file.
Any way you do it, when bringing a project into a newer version, dump the cache files on launch by holding Shift down while launching. Select dump all cache files.

Hi everyone, I'm a 12-year full-time professional in Premiere Pro and while I often read these community forums to leverage everyone's knowledge on fixing problems and bugs, this is my first time actually chiming in.
I noticed the Lumetri sliders lagging immediately after the 25.1 update in the project I was working on when the update happened. I didn't realize the adjustment layer above is actually causing the lag until reading these posts but I can absolutely replicate this issue every time on any clip that has an adjustment layer on a track above. If I turn off the video track the adjustment layer is sitting on, the sliders' effect immediately goes back to normal.

Curious as to the hardware, media, and any other effects used. Trying to get a good understanding of the situation there.

There have been other reports of this, but it does not seem to be a generic fault in PP. So, any other info to give some clues could be helpful.

I recently updated to the 2025 version, and suddenly I can't color grade on adjustment layers anymore. Previously, I could do that with no problem, but now in the 2025 version, it won't update on the clip in real time which is super annoying. Does anyone know why this is or if it is some setting I have to check or uncheck? Again, there was no problem doing this with older versions of Premiere, it's only now occurred on the newest version of the program.
I want to add that adjusting the color knobs directly on the clip works just fine, it's only when using an adjustment layer that it doesn't update in real-time and it gets laggy, so it has to be something with the adjustment layer.
It seems like there is a bug with adjustment layers since anything I throw on it, makes the timeline and project laggy.

I've tried this, didn't work.

Does the issue exist on any project, in any sequence, with any clip? Or is it just one clip and/or one sequence?

It's on everything. It might seem like the GPU acceleration stops working whenever I add an adjustment layer into the timeline, very strange—never had this issue before.

Does this also occur in the current 25.2 beta? We resolved an issue with Adjustment Layers that will hopefully address these issues. Sorry for the disruption.

Yes is does show an issue in 25.2 beta. Lumetri directly on clips will give a 15 second lag.
Same project in 25.1 no issue.

I was having the same issue on a M4 Pro, but updated to 25.2.0 and this seems to be improved.

I just installed the 25.2 and I noticed a big improvement too. It's not 100% responsive yet, but it's usable.
