Making archive lighter

New Here ,
Jul 22, 2021 Jul 22, 2021

Hi, I want to archive a project just using the bare minimum footage but as the edit uses a 2-minute segment referenced to a long, 80-minute video, it seems I have no way to avoid storing the entire full-length original. Maybe I could export the 80-minute media with black image and no sound in the useless parts (to make it lighter) and then replace the file. Is there a better idea? Thanks in advance!

Hi danilav21829047,

You may use Project Manager to archive your project. Please try these steps & check if it helps.

  • Open your project & launch Project Manager (File > Project Manager).
  • Set Resulting Project as Consolidate & Transcode.
  • Set Source to Individual Clips.
  • Set your Format & Preset & select a Destination Path.
You may refer to this screenshot for the settings.

Thanks,

Sumeet
