Mapping Audio Channels on Import

Anyone know how to make it so Premier automatically imports stereo files audio files and makes them stereo intsead of mono? I did this before in the preferences but it seems that option is no longer there or I forgot how to do it. When I drag a clip to the time line I would like there to be one stereo track instead of two mono tracks.

In the Preferences, Timeline tab ... set what you want for default actions in the Default Audio Tracks section.
