marker madness!

New Here ,
Jul 23, 2017 Jul 23, 2017

here is the problem:

i have a sequence with some clips, one video track and three audio tracks, some interviews.

if i want to put a marker in some of the clips it works just fine.

but in some, adding a new marker with my shortcut "m" just always adds it a couple of seconds before the position of my cursor.

Also it tells me (in german) on the right side "the file is in use and couldn't be refreshed".

Other sequences in the project work absolutely fine as well... I couldn't find any difference.

I'm very happy for any suggestions!

thx

If the clip is in the timeline, have your time-line indicator that you want the marker on then you can press shift/r to get the frame that you want in the source monitor. Then press "M" in the source monitor. This should place a marker on the clip which should also be visible in the timeline. Hopefully this will help out.

Thanks Rob!

This works!

Do you have an idea what could be the reason for the problem?

I'm glad that this works! The steps that you're taking in the timeline seem correct so I'm not sure why this work-around is necessary. Maybe a different frame rate on this footage than the sequence? Regardless.

Happy editing!
