Mask Tracking stopped working in 14.03 and not working in 14.0.4 OSX

Is anybody else seeing this?  If I want to track a mask now, I have to make the mask, manually press the keyframe button, move the CTI, move the mask, press the keyframe button to create a keyframe, and so on.  Interpolation between keyframes is working.

Clicking the Track arrow produces a keyframe on every frame, but the mask doesn't move.

I "think" it may have been working before in 14.0.3 and just stopped, but it's not working now.  Nor is it working in 14.0.4.

I troubleshooted the usual: delete prefs, reinstall Pr (twice), reinstall Catalina, reboot, trash caches.  Still not working.

BTW, the Mocha guru at Boris, Shane Ross told me that you can't track in Mocha Pro and paste mask points into a mask in Pr because of a deficiency in Pr's code.  This is possible in Ae.  It may work properly in the Windows version of Pr, but it doesn't in OSX.  So, I'm stuck with doing manual mask animation on my own.

The mask tracker is working properly and as expected again on a new Project.  So, I surmise that project or sequence corruption was the cause of the erratic mask traking behavior.

I just tried it on my Mac running 14.0.3 and it tracked without issue. The screen did not update during the tracking process (you don't see it stepping through the frames), but it did indeed track correctly and displays correctly when finished.

The screen not updating during tracking was an improvement in 13 or 14.x, I believe, because that slowed the process.

Thank you for confirming this. As I mentioned, I seem to recall it was working before.  I do mask tracking on most of my projects.

I'm not sure what else to try, since reinstalling has no effect.  I may have to go Medievel and delete everything Adobe related on my system, and start fresh.  Perhaps installing a third party effect borked it.  I have quite a few installed.  About the same time, I installed the upgraded Impact Transition suite.  Could be a coincidence, too.

The screen not updating is a pain in the bum.  Previously you could stop the process when the mask went off-course - now you cant.

I reinstalled 14.0.4, and now when I tracked a mask backwards with the CTI in the middle of the clip, the progress bar displayed progress, a bunch of keyframes were generated, but the mask didn't move at all.  Then I tracked forward from the same point, the progess bar displayed, then NO keyframes were generated.

However, one thing did change:  when I moved the CTI to the end of the clip and moved the mask, it generated a keyframe as it should, and the mask interpolated from my first keyframe to the new one, as it should.  So, some of my tracking problems are solved, but not all.

Reinstalled again, after deleting my 14.0 User folder.  Now it will track in reverse, but when tracking forward, the progress bar sticks around 95% just hangs.  After I Cancel, the Mask (x) and Mask Path parameters are grayed out.  I can only delete the mask or effect at that point.

I tried it in windows 14.03 and didn't wait till the end, so canceled it, but the keyframes were created and worked.

I got an auto-email from Adobe asking me to mark the correct answer.  There isn't one.  This is no fault of the User Community.

Despite all my reinstallations, the mask tracker continues to malfunction on my set-up.  I may have to delete everything Adobe related on my system and do a clean install from scratch.  Unlike some people, I continue to have work during this pandemic, and will have to wait until I run out of work to do.
