Missing Fonts in Premiere Pro's Essential Graphics—Need Help!

New Here ,
Sep 02, 2024 Sep 02, 2024

Hi everyone,

I've been using Premiere Pro 2024 for a few months now, and I’m honestly at my wit’s end. A few days ago, I installed some title packs (mogrt files) for the first time, but the associated fonts are causing me major headaches. A lot of these "essential graphics" don’t let me customize the font, and the default fonts aren't being recognized by Premiere (I keep getting the "missing font" error). This is despite the fact that these fonts are installed on Windows and even show up as options in Premiere when used elsewhere. Out of the 500+ titles I downloaded across three different packs, only about 10-20 work without any issues. I even get this error with some of the default titles that come with Premiere.

I’m really frustrated and could use some help from anyone who’s experienced this or knows how to fix it. I’d be incredibly grateful for any advice or solutions you can offer.

I’m attaching a pic to help illustrate the issue.

Thanks so much in advance!

Hi @tom_15480754,

Sorry you're running into issues. Fonts can be tricky, but hopefully we'll get you back to work quicky;

  1. Not all fonts that are named the same will be the same font file. For example, League Gothic from Adobe Fonts will be different than League Gothic from Google, and different from a free font site like Font Squirrel. Make sure you have the exact font installed that the ReadMe documentation links to that came with your download. (This will not be the case if you downloaded

Hi @Creative_Odyssey  ,
Thanks for reaching out.  Although I'm glad you've found a work-around for now, I would love to get more info about your problem.

When you say ANY fonts, do you mean all fonts are missing and you cannot create titles or is it just fonts you had installed?
Are you able to send a screen recording/ grab of what you're seeing when you try and install the fonts?
Also, can you tell me more about your computer specs and which version of 25 you had the issue with.

It seems you've

Sure!

  • Issue -

    Recently, I installed several title packs (MOGRT files) for the first time, but I’m running into significant problems with font customization. Many of the essential graphics do not allow me to change the font, and Premiere Pro is consistently displaying a "missing font" error (i.e. NEXA BOLD, NEXA LIGHT, ROBOSLAB-LIGHT, ORANIENBAUM, BARBARO WESTERN, SIGNATRA DEMO, and many more) This happens even though the fonts are installed on my Windows system and appear as options within Premiere in other contexts.

    Out of the 500+ titles I’ve downloaded across three different packs, only about 10-20 function as expected. I’m also seeing this issue with some of the default titles included in Premiere Pro.

    Any help or guidance from those who have experienced similar issues would be greatly appreciated. I’ve attached a screenshot to help illustrate the problem.

    Thank you in advance for your support!

Hi @tom_15480754,

Sorry you're running into issues. Fonts can be tricky, but hopefully we'll get you back to work quicky;

  1. Not all fonts that are named the same will be the same font file. For example, League Gothic from Adobe Fonts will be different than League Gothic from Google, and different from a free font site like Font Squirrel. Make sure you have the exact font installed that the ReadMe documentation links to that came with your download. (This will not be the case if you downloaded from Adobe Stock)

  2. What happens if you apply the mogrt to the timeline - does the font sync (does the T go away) or do you get the Resolve Fonts dialog?

  1. If the fonts included in the mogrts are from Adobe Fonts, (such as mogrts that ship with Premiere Pro) you can try

    • right clicking on the mogrt thumbnail and select "Sync Missing Fonts." If that doesn't work, try the next step.

    • closing Premiere Pro, sign out of Creative Cloud Desktop app, and fonts.adobe.com, then restart Premiere Pro which will prompt you to sign back in. Shift click on multiple mogrts in the EGP/GTP and right click "Sync Missing Fonts." If that doesn't work, try the next step.

    • mini hammer, which is going to the Creative Cloud desktop app, on the first page select Adobe Fonts from the right column, and remove the fonts that won't sync. Then in Premiere Pro, shift click on multiple mogrts in the EGP/GTP and right click "Sync Missing Fonts." If that doesn't work, try the next step.

    • the biggest hammer, which is going to the Creative Cloud desktop app, on the first page select Adobe Fonts from the right column, select the meatball (three dot) menu on the top right and choose "Remove all fonts." Then close Premiere Pro, sign out of Creative Cloud Desktop app, and fonts.adobe.com, then restart Premiere Pro which will prompt you to sign back in. Shift click on multiple mogrts in the EGP/GTP and right click "Sync Missing Fonts.

Let me know how it goes!

Cheers,

Theresa

I dont know if this helps, but the newest version of premeire pro, version 25. doesnt recognize ANY fonts on my computer. I tried resetting settings reinstalling, adobe, reinstalling fonts, nothing. But i went back to the version before just to see. and it works fine. So i suggest just go back to the previous version until adobe fixes it.

It seems you've tried a lot of solutions, but just in case here are some suggestions:

Same problem here. Removed and reinstalled Myriad Pro fonts last time I opened the project (last week) but today they were all gone again, and even the remove/install didn't work for som of the fonts I NEED to use in my current project.
