Missing v2 v3 video tracks, how to add?

New Here ,

Hello everyone,

I have been searching for over 2 hours now to find a solution to my problem, here in the forum and in youtube, but I cannot find anything, so I post it here in the hope someone has a solution. I am a beginner in using Adobe Premiere, so it is good possible I missed a step.

I created a new project, then add my video recording to V1, it added A1 of this video, I cut the video and after that I added audio 2 (music) and that is done now.

Now I want to use v2 to put a video there and use it as a replacement of the background in a clip of V1, but V2 is not in my list nor V3, when trying to add a video track through the menu nothing happens.

What did I miss?

Thank you for your help.

Stefan

Check to make sure the video tracks are not out of view. In my example below, you see audio tracks, and I know video tracks are also there, but we cannot see them. I position the pointer above the top audio track so that the pointer changes into the icon for dragging the divider between video and audio tracks, and drag down. This expands the video track display so that V1, V2, V3, V4… can finally be seen again.

If this helps, then the problem was that the video/audio track divider was accidentally dragged up so that the video track display was fully collapsed, so that all video tracks were out of view.

Hello Conrad,

Thanks a lot for this tip, the drawbar was already below and only shows V1, so I went into the menu timeline display settings to see what else is there, I choose expand all tracks and another bar line appeared, I dragged it down and there they are, v2 and v3 appeared. 😄 Your tip brought the solution. 🙂
