Hello! My team is encountering a new MoGRT install bug, and I'm pretty stumped. It started on my coworker's machine (fresh install of PR, AE as of 2 days ago), and I was able to recreate it by updating my PR to the latest release as well. We're both on Macs.
Basically, when we try loading a MoGRT into Premiere using the "install motion graphics template" button at bottom right of the Essential Graphics panel, we get the following error: "the motion graphics template could not be installed"
Curious, I tried installing manually (username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Motion Graphics Templates), and had no problem - MoGRT worked great. Then I tested installing it using the button in the EG panel again, and could see that the MoGRT file was being added to the Motion Graphics Template folder, but the file itself was grayed out. It's like the install can't complete for some reason.
Any ideas?

Hey chloenerd,
Welcome to the community, and sorry about the issue. Are you having this problem with a specific .mogrt file or all of them? Are you able to use the .mogrt file if you roll back to the previous version of Premiere Pro? Let us know. We're here to help.
Thanks,
Ishan

Thanks Ishan, appreciate your help!
I have both version 22.5.0 Build 62 and version 15.1.0 Build 48 installed on my machine. The MoGRTs were created on version 15.1.0.

Sorry, chloenerd. I feel for you. Perhaps something is amiss in your macOS file system. When Premiere Pro asks you about permissions during its installation, did you ever click "no?"
I would check out your System Preferences on the Mac and make sure that permissions are set to R/W for anything Premiere Pro touches, like where your .mogrt files are stored. I believe Security > Privacy > Full Disk Access is the location in System Preferences where an adjustment may make a difference in how Premiere Pro functions. Can you try it?
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin, I suspect an issue with my file system may be it, too. A different colleague tried installing the same mogrt file in his Premiere vr22.5, and it worked fine. So it does not seem to be an issue with the mogrt file.
I discovered what I think may be a related problem the other day, this time in AE, similar to the ticket here.
In AE 22.5 When collecting files, the files in the footage folder are also grayed out (same issue as trying to install mogrt via premiere essential graphics panel, see screenshots attached). In earlier versions of AE, it crashes in the same way as described in that linked ticket. Collecting files to an external drive "solves the problem" on all versions of AE.
I followed your instructions and gave Premiere and AE full disk access. I also went through to the disk Library> application support>Adobe>AE/PR folders and made sure I have R/W permissions there. Still not working. Anything else you'd suggest I try?

Sorry about that. Thanks for trying. I'll point the mogrt brain trust to the post. I hope we can get some help for you ASAP.
Thanks,

One of our editors working on Mac was experiencing this issue, but importing manually didn't work either.
Posting our work-around for visibility.
He was missing the "Motion Graphics Templates" folder in the following file path: (username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Motion Graphics Templates) so he created a new folder in this location with this name.
In PR, in the Essential Graphics panel, he clicked the hamburger menu > "Manage Additional Folders" > "Add" and added the new "Motion Graphics Templates" folder.
All MOGRTs dropped into the "Motion Graphics Templates" folder appeared in PR after re-opening the program.
Dragging and dropping still causes the original error.

Hi Loane,
You may want to check the error on the Beta. It may be fixed there by now. More info: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/problem-with-adobe-premiere-graphic-import/m...

Thanks for posting this workaround. Had the same issue importing from Dropbox today and this solved it.
